For Unto Us A Child Is Born!

For many, this verse simply carries the reassuring sweetness of a babe lying in a manger. Yet the intention of the message was never intended to be “Cozy, Cozy, Cozy” but “Holy! Holy! Holy!” This prophetic promise signified something earth-shattering for the people of ancient Israel who had been longing for its fulfillment.

Have we become too comfortable with these thunderous words from Isaiah 9:6?

When we lift our voices this Christmas season, let our eyes and hearts be opened to the Glory of the Lord. Let us remember that we are forerunners of the voices in Heaven who will soon be shouting, “…the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation ‪11:15)

Christmas carols are not just songs of celebration for the faithful. They are ancient songs of revolution. When we sing these scriptures, we are proclaiming the holy promises of our God. Angels rejoice and demons tremble when they hear these words.

The “gentle Jesus meek and mild” was born to roar, and He’s calling His people to roar with Him. As we witness the groaning of nations, the clashing of cultures and the crashing of governments, we will fear not because this Child – Son of the Living God and Savior of the World – has been born to us. And the government will be upon His shoulders. And the gates of hell will not prevail against Him… because He has overcome the world.

The Lamb has come, but the Lion is coming!
