Super Contra NES
“Super Contra,” also known as “Super Contra: The Alien Strikes Back” in Japan, is a run-and-gun video game developed by Konami. Released in January 1988, it serves as the sequel to the original “Contra” and is part of the Contra series. The game follows protagonists Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, who are tasked with stopping an alien invasion that has overtaken an allied military base and possessed its troops. This mission pits them against both mutated alien creatures and their own former comrades.
The gameplay of “Super Contra” retains the side-scrolling action of its predecessor, with new vertically-scrolling stages added. It supports two-player cooperative play, with Bill (in green) and Lance (in purple) as playable characters. Players can now also control the height of their jumps, adding a new dimension to the gameplay.
