Can you imagine an earth-shaking 7.5 magnitude earthquake followed by an enormous tsunami? Then, you have to face the heartbreaking search for your missing loved ones and the desperate search for food and fresh water.
It’s almost too much to comprehend, but it’s exactly what the Indonesian people faced this past September.
The destruction was immense.The death toll hit 1,500. Thousands of homes were destroyed and many vulnerable children and families were left homeless.
Operation Blessing teams were there on the ground providing relief to the people of Palu. OBI gave out solar lights to disaster victims who had no other light source, as well as, safe drinking water. OBI medical teams also aided disaster victims — giving emergency supplies to 10 shelters.
