Adventures of LOLO (NES)

Adventures of Lolo is a puzzle game released in 1989 by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Players control Lolo, a round, anthropomorphic creature on a quest to rescue Princess Lala from the evil King Egger. Lolo must navigate through Egger’s castle, which consists of 50 rooms spread across 10 floors. Each room challenges Lolo to collect several hearts to unlock a treasure chest containing a gem that opens the exit to the next room.

The gameplay involves maneuvering through various obstacles, avoiding or neutralizing enemies with distinct movement and attack patterns. Lolo can move blocks, shoot a limited number of shots to trap enemies in eggs, which can then be used as bridges or pushed around. Not all enemies can be neutralized with Lolo’s shots. Additionally, Lolo can acquire special abilities like smashing rocks or building bridges on certain levels.

Lolo loses a life if hit by an enemy or shot, with some enemies only impeding his movement rather than causing death. Players can restart a room at any time, but it costs a life to do so.
